Margaret Hanlon

CLINICAL SPECIALIST PHYSIO, MANUAL PHYSIO, REHAB PHYSIO, CLINIC DIRECTOR
Margaret qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1991. She worked in the USA before moving to London to complete a Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at University College London. On returning to Ireland, Margaret worked in both the hospital and private practice setting, gaining experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. She also started lecturing and tutoring at an undergraduate and postgraduate level in both Trinity and UCD.

Margaret is passionate about promoting and advocating for the the profession of physiotherapy. Throughout her career, she has served on the committees of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Musculoskeletal Therapy and Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice. From 2010 -2014, she was the Vice President of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and Chairperson at the board meetings. During this period, she assisted the professional body with the preparations for state regulation, whilst supporting the interests and development of private practices.

Margaret was Chairperson of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice, representing Ireland on the International Private Physiotherapy Association (IPPTA) of the World Congress of Physiotherapy from 2017-2022. (WCPT). In 2003, she was involved in a working research party of the ISCP investigating whiplash associated disorders, culminating in the presentation of a paper at the WCPT in Barcelona.

Margaret and John have a joint ideal of providing best possible physiotherapy care. To this end, she spends much time mentoring the team at CityPhysio, helping them to develop and grow along their career path.

Margaret is a Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal Therapy, provides a consultative physiotherapy service to help solve complex musculoskeletal problems and has a special interest in whiplash, low back and pelvic pain. She is also an expert witness to the legal profession, providing an expert professional opinion on physiotherapy cases and treatments.

When not at work or running a taxi service for her teenage children, she loves to run, play tennis and cook.
